Brave Minds Program Overview

Session Structure

Creating Safety & Connection
Our initial sessions focus on establishing a sense of safety within the group. We begin by sharing our own personal experiences and explaining the “why” behind Pretty Bold, helping participants feel connected and understood.

Session Focus Areas
Our sessions are structured around three core elements:

  • Check-In & Weekly Wins
We start by checking in with each participant, discussing how their week has been. This includes sharing a “weekly win,” where everyone highlights something positive they’ve experienced or achieved. This practice is integral to developing a healthy mindset and challenging negative thoughts.

  • Educational Segment
We explore a specific topic relevant to teen life, accompanied by an activity that introduces a tool or technique to support their well-being. This hands-on approach ensures the lessons are both engaging and practical.

  • Emotional Regulation & Relaxation
Each session concludes with a focus on emotional regulation. Participants are guided through relaxation exercises, such as listening to calming music or experiencing a guided meditation that ties into the day’s discussion. This helps them leave the session feeling centered and at peace.

  • We focus on building trust and connection from day 1. This week is all about sharing stories, our values, what we do and getting to know each other

  • This session is about understanding the development stages that the teen brain goes through and why we may be feeling different emotions and feelings. We look at the feedback loop, our belief system and create beautiful affirmations for the new belief system we would like to step into

  • This week we dive into different ways we can take care of our mental and emotional self, we create our joy list, look at implementing positive daily habits and we do a fun activity creating our own bath salts

  • After looking at our belief systems and the ways we can take care of ourselves we now create a beautiful vision board around these discussion with a focus on how we want to feel and show up in the world

  • Along with the changes in the adolescent brain, there is so much going on with the different hormones in the body. This session is all around understanding the different phases of our cycle and how the girls can best support and understand themselves through each 4 phases. We focus on creating a positive dialog around our periods and a safe space where the girls can ask anonymous questions. We often make this fun by getting comfy in our Pjs and having a hot chocolate buffet

  • This session we share stories and conversations around how we can keep ourselves emotional and mentally safe online, we touch on comparison, the importance of tech breaks and boundaries and being kind to oursleves and others online

  • By this time in our programme the girls have already

formed amazing connections and built confidence and

trust within the group. We use this session to explore role play activities and movement to grow the girls confidence and share the things we love about ourselves and each other

  • This session is around exploring the different emotions we may feel and looking at the different tools that can help. There are specific tools that can help support different emotions like sadness, anxiety, stress, anger

  • As part of the 10 week programme we encourage the girls to form daily habits to support their mental and emotional well-being. to support them to continue to do this after the programme ends, we gift all the girls a journal. In this session we offer tools to support their journalling practice and decorate the journals to reflect who they are.

  • Our last session is a beautiful reflection of the time we have spent together, we talk about setting intentions for how we want to carry on from here. We have a special sister circle to a-knowledge and celebrate their willingness and support for both themselves and the other participants. As part of our graduation gift, the girls all make their own necklace or bracelet to take with them as a reminder the amazing connections they have made during their time together
